EICMA 2015: 2016 Indian Scout Sixty Revealed

Indian Motorcycles has just uncovered its cheapest model Scout Sixty at the EICMA 2015 in Milan. This cruiser is the latest addition to its lineup with a smaller displacement engine and it is more economical if compared with its most popular model 'Indian Scout'. With this model, the company targets to win more customers using the brand’s appeal.

The Scout Sixty resembles its big brother ‘Scout 1130cc’ in terms of looks. The bike has swoopy front and high rear mudguard. It is constructed on a same cast aluminum frame as the Scout, which provides class-leading handling.
Just 130cc less from Scout 1130, the little cruiser is equipped with 999cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve, V-twin parallel engine which pumps out a maximum power of 77bhp at 7,300 rpm and 88.8 Nm of torque at 5,600 rpm. The engine power is transferred to the rear wheels via 5speed gearbox. The bike gets its name from 60 cubic inches of engine displacement and is known as ‘Scout Sixty’.

The Suspension units in this bike are shared with its sibling Scout and the bike gets non-adjustable forks with 120mm travel at the front while a pair of adjustable shocks with 76mm travel at the back. Braking action will be carried out by a single two-piston calliper and 298mm disc plate at the front while one piston calliper and the disc plate of the same size at the rear.
The bike is launched in Europe with a price tag of £8,999 (INR 6.37 lac). Along with this, the manufacturer will be offering an array of accessories such as laced wheels, a different saddle, extended reach bars and foot controls, mini-ape bars and a Remus exhaust.
