The all new electric scooter is expected to be released by the year 2014, after the auto company, Smart in association with Daimler, gave the vehicle green signal. Although, the company has not received any significant success with its four wheeler range for the same concept, Smart has decided to move ahead with the escooter model they disclosed at the Paris Motor Show. They would also be putting their electric ebike on sale. The new scooter would have a disc-shaped wheel hub in the rear wheel with the lithium ion battery backing it up for charging purposes. Smart escooter would also be featuring regenerative brakes and would give 4 kw as output.

The vehicle can travel with a speed of up to 45 kmph. The battery is also formidable that allows you to charge the scooter from 0 to 100 percent in 3 to 5 hours. All it needs is a 22 volt outlet. Still, the whole process is not complete and they can finish the minor changes along with the major ones till 2014. For now there are no immediate plans from the company to release the exciting new concept for the Indian market but the country would be hoping that they do as we are one of the major contributors to the world pollution. The Indian market should be ideal for the product, as the it not only has the appeal in terms of design but can prove to be very useful too with the petrol prices reaching the roof tops.
