[UPDATE: CFMoto has made its India debut with the launch of four products: 300NK, 650NK, 650MT & 650GT. Head here for the pricing and other details.]
The 650cc bike is a faired tourer based on the CFMoto 650NK
- CFMoto will launch three bikes next month: 300NK, 650NK and 650MT.
- The faired 650GT will be launched by October this year.
- Expected to be priced around Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
The CFMoto 650GT has arrived on Indian shores. As reported earlier, the 650GT is expected to launch later this year, after the 300NK, 650Nk and 650MT, which will go on sale next month.
Lets first understand the difference between a sports tourer and an adventure tourer. A sports tourer as the name states is a sporty touring bike and offers dynamics similar to a sports bike. An adventure tourer, on the other hand, is a tourer on which you can go off the road thanks to its long travel suspension. So the CFMoto 650GT is a sports tourer, like the Kawasaki Ninja 650 while the CFMoto 650MT is an adventure tourer like the Kawasaki Versys 650. The pictures of the 650GT offer an insight into what to expect from the upcoming Chinese motorcycle. It will be a fully faired bike with a sportier fairing and large twin-headlamp setup. Like the 650MT, the new 650GT also gets LED headlamps, turn indicators and tail lamp. The tourer gets a large windscreen, which seems to be removed here to prevent damage during transit. It also gets large fairing-mounted mirrors and split seats. Compared to the 650MT, you get a flatter handlebar for a sportier riding position.

The new 650GT is based on CFMoto’s 650cc platform which it shares with the 650NK naked and 650MT adventure bike. It is powered by the same 649.3cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine as seen on the 650MT We expect the 650GT’s motor to produce 70PS and 62Nm. The gearbox is a six-speed unit.

As seen in the images, the frame seems similar to CFMoto’s other 650cc bikes, down to its side mount for the rear suspension. The suspension setup, consisting of conventional forks and single shock preload adjustable shock absorber, however, seems lifted off the 650NK naked. Braking hardware will also be shared with other 650s and the 650GT will be equipped with dual-channel ABS.

We expect the CFMoto 650GT to be priced around Rs 5.5 lakh and slot it in between the 650NK (Rs 5 lakh) and 650MT (Rs 6 lakh, both expected ex-showroom prices). When launched in October, the 650GT would compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 (Rs 5.89 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi).
