Tork Motors launched its first electric motorcycle, the Kratos, earlier this year. However, here’s a Tork electric dirt bike based on the Kratos’ frame and motor, which looks like a rather ambitious project.
The e-bike was spotted at the Pune Off-road Expedition and is a one-off bike that was made as a hobby project by Suraj Giri (Prototype Engineer at Tork Motors). That said, despite it being a hobby project, the e-bike is still undergoing feasibility checks by the EV manufacturer.
In terms of design, it gets an absolute dirt bike treatment with slim body panels, long and high-rise front and rear fenders and a motocross-style seat. For a stealthy appeal, the e-bike comes painted in black carbon fibre wrap.
To make the e-bike capable of off-roading, the entire front including the long travel suspension, 21-inch spoke wheel, Maxxis block-pattern tyres, brakes and callipers are borrowed from the Hero XPulse 200 Rally Kit. At the rear, the e-bike uses a 17-inch Hero Impulse wheel, but with the same Maxxis tyres and braking hardware from the XPulse 200.

It is powered by the same 7.5kW (peak) motor, putting out 28Nm paired to a 4kWh battery as the standard Tork Kratos. It also gets the same digital console as the standard bike.
Summing up, we really hope that Tork Motors pushes this electric dirt bike for production as currently there is no similar offering in India. Moreover, an electric dirt bike will give Tork the flexibility of optimising the bike’s off-road performance rather than focusing on the outright range. The inherent torquey nature of an electric motor will ensure it feels right at home in a dirt bike chassis. Who knows, one day, Tork might bring out the perfect electric rival to the Hero XPulse 200.
Apart from that, Tork has also introduced a mobile sales and service solution called Pit Crew. This service will offer deliveries, periodic maintenance, sales and spares of the e-bike at the customer’s doorstep. That said, this service is operational in Pune and Tork will be extending it to other cities including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad by the end of this financial year.
