French car and scooter manufacturer Peugeot is testing its electric scooter in India. The Peugeot Kisbee electric scooter has been spied in Pune recently. And we think that it could be the electric version of the brand’s existing Kisbee petrol scooter.
The spied electric scooter resembles the Kisbee petrol scooter and features a similar apron, handlebar cowl, bodywork and alloy wheels with a slightly tweaked design. However, the headlight looks different and is an LED unit on the spied scooter, with the sleek bike-like front indicators placed on the lower part of the handlebar cowl.
The electric scooter gets a spacious floorboard. It has the same long and spacious single-piece seat with a single-piece grab rail as the petrol scooter. The horizontally placed tail light design is also very unique, with bike-like indicators sticking out on the sides.
The Peugeot electric scooter has a hub-mounted motor. The petrol-powered Kisbee makes 3.53PS and has a top speed of 45kmph, and we expect the electric scooter to make similar power as well. The battery pack is placed under the seat. It is equipped with a full LCD instrument console and a basic switchgear.
The spied Peugeot electric scooter has a telescopic fork and twin-rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled by a disc at the front and a drum at the rear, with single-channel ABS. It has 12-inch alloy wheels on both ends.
Unfortunately, Peugeot’s electric scooter is unlikely to launch in the Indian market. Then why was it spied on Indian roads? Well, some of Peugeot’s two-wheelers are manufactured in India at Mahindra’s manufacturing plant. Apart from that, India is known for harsh weather conditions, therefore, Peugeot tests some of its two-wheelers here, to put the vehicles through their paces. That said, it may be showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show in October.
