New variant of the RE Meteor 350 incoming

As per our dealer sources, Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch a new variant of the Meteor 350 either by the end of this month or by early July.

This new variant of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 may feature new aesthetics to appeal to youngsters. This bike could also get a more compact handlebar, smaller 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloys with tubeless tyres, fully blacked-out powertrain and fenders, and a single-piece seat instead of the Meteor’s current split-seat setup. These changes are reminiscent of when Royal Enfield launched the Thunderbird X series alongside the Thunderbird series with similar updates.

Interestingly enough, the Meteor 350 is a sort of spiritual successor to the Thunderbird 350, and hence it was only a matter of time that a replacement for the funky Thunderbird 350X came in. This new variant will continue to be powered by the same J-series, air-cooled 349cc engine that produces 20.4PS and 27Nm.

The underpinnings for the Meteor’s new variant will likely remain the same, with a 41mm telescopic suspension at the front and twin shocks at the rear. The 300mm front disc and 270mm rear disc will also be carried over from the standard Meteor 350, which will also feature a dual-channel ABS.

While the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 currently comes in three variants - Fireball, Stellar, and Supernova, the main differences in these variants are colours and few accessories. However, the new upcoming variant, besides featuring all the hardware mentioned above, is also likely to offer new bright funky colours with minimal chrome accents.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is currently priced between Rs 2,01,253 - Rs 2,17,469 (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect the upcoming variant to be priced around Rs 8,000 to 10,000 higher than the current Fireball variant. This new Meteor 350 variant will go up against the Jawa Perak, and the Yezdi Roadster.
