UM Motorcycles that recently entered the Indian market with the launch of new products at Delhi Auto Expo has plans to expand its range further by 2016 end. In an interview with BikeDekho, an official has confirmed this by saying that they are more into cruisers for now and for the time being, their focus is this particular segment only. UM Motorcycles have launched three motorcycles under the Renegade range namely Commando, Sport S and Classic.
Mr. Juan Villegas, Global Director, Business Development, UM Motorcycles told BikeDekho, "We have no plans to bring a new bike to India this year. Instead, we are working on more variants of UM Renegade cruisers that you can expect to see by year end. With the new bikes we have introduced in Delhi Auto expo, we see it as the opening of a new motorcycle segment as presently, UM is the only one to offer such motorcycles at this price range."
Talking of further plans, he added, "In the initial level, we will start our operations by 50 dealerships across India. The dealer network will expand to 100 dealerships within one year that will help in easy accessibility of our products."
The launch of UM Renegade range was done in the presence of Bollywood actor Karan Singh Grover. The Renegades have been introduced in India at a starting price of Rs. 1.49 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bikes did managed to impress us and the price at which UM has released them, the Indian buyers will surely be getting a new option to look for. Stay tuned for more updates on Auto Expo!
