Here’s some juicy news straight from Benelli’s stable. Sources suggest the BS6 TRK 502’s launch is just around the corner. The ADV brings in several cosmetic and feature updates for 2021, primary of which are the new seat design and a revised switchgear and console.
Delving into details, the images suggest that the BS6 TRK 502 may come with a new cast top rack design that is broader and sturdier than before. The revised seat appears to have better cushioning, which may improve the bike’s overall riding experience.
Move forward and you'll notice the knuckle guards which now have an aluminium frame for better protection. The previous model featured plastic handguards, which didn’t offer much protection in case of a fall. The handlebar is finished in black instead of silver for better aesthetics.
Same goes for the mirrors, which come with a faux carbon finish. Changes from a rider’s point of view include a new grip design that seems to be a tad thicker than before, perhaps to reduce engine vibes further. The rev range on the console now gets a white backlight, accompanied with a backlit switchgear, for better night visibility. Interestingly, similar updates have been seen on the 2021 Benelli TRK 502X, which begs us to believe that the 502 is up for a massive update in the foreseeable future.
Performance is likely to remain unchanged, despite the update in emission norms. What may change, however, is the weight. The bulk of the larger cat-con may push the weight of the bike by a couple of kilos. For reference, the BS4 TRK 502 made 47.5PS at 8500rpm and 46NM peak torque at 6000rpm through its inline two-cylinder engine.
Courtesy of the updates, expect the BS6 TRK 502 to be priced around Rs 5.3lakh - 5.4 lakh (ex-showroom). Benelli is expected to launch the bike by the end of this month or the first week of February 2021. Its future plans include introducing larger 600cc and 1000cc models as well.
