Unofficial bookings for the updated model have already started at select dealerships
[UPDATE: Yamaha has launched the MT-15 Version 2.0 in India. From pricing to specs and features, check out the details in our launch story]
Yamaha India will be launching the updated model of its small displacement streetfighter, the MT-15, on April 11 or 12. Bookings for the updated model have already begun at select dealerships starting at Rs 1,000. The MT-15 V2.0 is likely to borrow a bunch of upgrades from its fully faired sibling, R15 V4.
Primary changes on the updated MT-15 V2 will most likely include R15 V4’s multi-functional fully-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. It displays information such as call and notification updates, phone battery level, gear position, ride modes, average speed, and fuel efficiency.

Following the suite of R15 V4, the MT-15 V2 is also likely to be suspended on a front USD fork improving the riding dynamics of the bike. Additionally, we can expect Yamaha to introduce dual-channel ABS on the naked streetfighter, given its strong performance.
Powering the bike will be the same 155cc liquid-cooled, SOHC engine as before, producing 18.5PS and 13.9Nm, mated to a six-speed transmission.
In terms of styling, the naked motorcycle might retain its design without any significant updates, however, the bike will most likely be available in new colour schemes. We would love it if Yamaha gives the styling an overhaul as it did with the R15 V4 and if the design of the new bike is based on the Yamaha MT-03. Expect Yamaha to demand a premium of around Rs 10,000 for the MT-15 V2. Currently, the outgoing model retails at Rs 1,46,900 ex-showroom, Delhi.
