A closer look at the most expensive variant of the Japanese supersport
Yamaha has finally launched the special edition R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition in India with a price tag of Rs 1,88,300 (ex-showroom Delhi). We have some exclusive photos of the bike from the dealer event to give you a glimpse of how the supersports looks in flesh.
The Yamaha R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition comes draped in the iconic white and red ‘Speed Block’ livery. This livery first made its debut in India with the R15 V2 50th Anniversary Edition back in 2012.
Yamaha has given a yellow colour to the fascia of this R15M, where generally the racing number of a race bike would go. Now, that would be perfect if you decide you take your bike for track days, right?

This is the only trim of the R15 on sale that features golden alloy wheels. The unique paint complements the gold-finished USD fork and adds to the premiumness of the model.
The World GP 60th Anniversary Edition comes with special seats with the ‘R15M’ logo stitched on the pillion seat.
The R15M gets the same 11-litre fuel tank; however, this model comes with a red racing stripe running across it and features gold-painted Yamaha logos.
This special edition R15M packs the same 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 18.4PS and 14.2Nm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox mated to a slip-and-assist clutch.
The Yamaha R15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition comes with traction control and quickshifter as standard. So, the Rs 3,000 extra you pay over the standard R15M is purely for cosmetic changes. Let us know in the comments if you think that this bike’s hefty price tag is justified.
