Find Your Nearest EV Charging Station Using Google Maps

Range anxiety is understandably one of the biggest factors preventing users from switching over to EVs. Seeing your range display tick down while not knowing where the nearest charging station can be quite discomforting, but this anxiety can be alleviated with the help of Google Maps. The app knows the locations of EV charging stations in most major cities and can find you the nearest charging station.

Overseas, Google Maps even has a real-time function to show you whether a particular charging station is in use or not, and recently, Google also added a feature that allows you to filter charging stations by plug type. This ensures that you don’t land up at a charging station that is incompatible with your vehicle. Unfortunately, these features aren’t available in India yet, but you can check the timings for most charging station on the app.

The app showed us 19 charging stations in Mumbai and 17 in Pune, many of which are open 24 hours. However, there are also a few charging stations for which the timings aren’t displayed. We also can’t vouch for the authenticity of all the locations, but going by previous experience with the app, the information should be fairly accurate. To find your nearest charging station, simply enter ‘EV Charging Station’ into the search bar.
