Eko Vehicles, a Bangalore based company launched its two new two-wheelers in India. The first model is Strike which is an electric scooter with no frills and it comes at a price range of INR 22K only. The other one is a ET-120 bike which operates on a combination of electric motor as well as 70 cc petrol engine. Both the vehicles have been manufactured in partnership with UK and US based companies. Alan Rubeinsten a US Collaborator said, "We developed a hybrid technology which will allow the electric motor together with the gasoline motor or petrol motor to be in combination. So, they should get unlimited range. So, when you drive in gasoline, you are charging the motor." Anil Ananthkrishnan Chairman and CEO, Eko Vehicles said, "Their calculation is that half a tonne of carbon emission is reduced as compared to a gasoline power vehicle when you use a electric vehicle." The popular bikes in India are TVS and Apache Bajaj Pulsar.
