This is the most affordable electric scooter to come with IoT
- Available with three battery pack options delivering a range of up to 75km.
- Gets two luggage mounting options to choose from.
- Equipped with pedal assist and reverse mode.
There has been a lot of action in the electric two-wheeler segment in the past few years (thanks to the rocketing fuel prices), with the B2B segment particularly picking up momentum . Last week, we saw Detel launch one of the most economical EVs in the market, and now we have the Gelios Hope. The e-scooter has been priced aggressively and has a claimed running cost of 20 paisa per kilometre. Interesting, isn’t it?
The Hope is powered by a 250W BLDC hub motor that can propel the e-scooter to a max speed of 25kmph. There are three lithium-ion battery options -- 18Ah, 24Ah, and 30Ah -- that can deliver a range of up to 75km on a single charge. Charging the battery to 80 percent takes a little over three hours, while a full charge is possible in four hours.

The battery pack is detachable and comes with bluetooth connectivity for accurate data logging and protection. But that isn’t where it ends. From fleet management and geofencing to data monitoring and analytics, the Gelios Hope gets a host of connectivity features. Other features include LED lighting, an LCD instrument console, and parking assist with reverse mode.
Geliose aims to cater primarily to delivery-oriented businesses, and hence, the Hope gets a barebone design with a couple of luggage mounting options for different businesses. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks and dual shocks, while braking is taken care of by drum brakes at both ends. Geliose has also equipped the Hope with pedals to take care of range anxiety. Right now, the e-scooter is available for last-mile delivery applications only. Bookings for personal commuters will begin after a few months.
You can either lease the e-scooter for Rs 2,999 per month, or buy it at Rs 46,999. The Geliose Hope is currently on sale only in Delhi, but should reach more cities by the end of this year. At its price, it is one of the most affordable IoT-equipped e-scooters, and it goes up against the Okinawa Dual, Detel Easy Plus, and the Hero Electric Nyx.
