The Tokyo Motor Show is an international auto show that takes place every two years and showcases some of the best cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles all over the world. The 2015 edition of this event has been a great success and we have seen various new models along with concepts and refreshed two-wheelers. Here are the highlights of the event -
Honda CBR250RR Concept
Honda CBR250R is going to be a powerful track focused motorcycle, which will be positioned above the existing single-cylinder variant. The concept model of the bike is finished with a matte black theme with carbon fibres inserts throughout accentuating its sharp surfaces. The “angry looks” inspired front fascia boasts the illuminated LED slits instead of headlamps. Its massive full fairing covers all the mechanicals of the bike. Read More
Honda CBR400R Concept
CBR400R will be convenient for both, city and sport touring. The bike is said to offer a comfortable and enjoyable ride in all situations. Accompanying other CBR models, CBR400RR sits between a wide range starting from CBR250R and CBR650F. It is powered by a parallel twin 400cc DOHC 4-valve motor. Read More
Honda Grom50 Scrambler Concept
Engineers at Honda have combined Grom with their 50cc Monkey bike (sold in Japan) and created a very interesting concept out of them, called Grom 50 Scrambler Concept. The concept is showcased in two colours - Silver and the one with Matte Green finishing. Read More
Yamaha MWT-9 Multi-Wheeled Concept
Yamaha MWT-9 is a Multi-wheeled motorcycle, which is created under the project called “Cornering Master”. With this three-wheeled machine, the company is aiming to improve the sports riding experience in a completely new category. The MWT-9 houses an 850cc, three-cylinder, liquid cooled engine, which is quite comparable to powerful sports motorcycles. Read More
Yamaha MOTOBOT Ver. 1 Concept
Yamaha exhibited a revolutionary technology - MOTOBOT Ver. 1 at the event. It is not a new motorcycle, but it is an autonomous motorcycle-riding humanoid robot. It approaches riding operations from a human rider’s standpoint, with no modifications made to the motorcycle itself. Yamaha is using its latest YZF-R1M supersport motorcycle as the reference bike for the concept. Read More
Kawasaki SC (Spirit Charger) 01 Concept
The Concept SC 01 represents just one of the fascinating directions Kawasaki’s design team are considering for the future of the forced induction motorcycle line. 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10
The new Ninja ZX-10R offers bigger cowl, a large tail section with a new tail lamp and a slim exhaust. This subtly designed bike gets a lot of new features and updates, which includes the Brembo M50 monobloc brake calipers along with Brembo idle stroke checked radial master cylinder. It has also got the WSBK inspired adjustable Showa front forks, a launch control system, an engine power selection system, traction control, brake management and a six-axis Inertial measurement unit. Kawasaki Z125
Kawasaki Z125 is expected to launch in Japan and other parts of Asia. However, it is not expected to be a part of company’s Indian line-up. The 125cc motorcycle is expected to be priced at around Rs. 1.4 lac in Japan and will rival the likes of Honda MSX125 aka Grom. The bike will be available in two trims - Z125 and Z125 Pro and will feature in following three colors - Candy Lime Green, Metallic Graphite Gray and Candy Burnt Orange. Read More
2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R
The 2016 standard version of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R has an improved instrument cluster with dotted background LCDs and the white/black interchangeable display. Though the changes have been made to lower down emission, the company claims that the performance of the motorcycle is unaffected. The bike houses a 1,411cc liquid-cooled inline four cylinder engine, which produces the maximum power of 200PS. Suzuki Hustler Scoot and Feel Free Go Concepts
Suzuki Hustler Scoot is a 50cc scooter, which is said to be a rider friendly with creative options to store stuff. It has a conventional under-seat space, a removable luggage case that can be mounted on the floor between the rider’s feet. It also boasts the luggage carrier at the rear and sides of the body. On the other hand, Feel Free Go is an engine powered cross-bike that offers the feel of a bicycle along with the ease of motorcycle. It has a saddle type seat, a twist shifter, a rear view display in the meter and a projector beam light to warn the presence of the vehicle. It is equipped with a 50cc gasoline-powered unit. Suzuki Showcased 600cc Turbocharged Engine for Motorcycles
Suzuki displayed a turbo engine for motorcycles at the Tokyo Motor Show. Earlier, the news of Suzuki developing a turbocharged bike went viral over the internet. Christened as Recursion, the company had filed a patent for it a few months back. India-Made Suzuki Gixxer
Suzuki Gixxer has already taken 150cc segment in the country by storm and is expected to do same in the Japanese market as well. This premium commuter is equipped with 154.9cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces the maximum power of 14.8PS and the peak torque of 14Nm.
