Harley Davidson booking started from today

America cruiser motorcycle manufacturer, Harley Davidson has started booking of its motorcycles in India from today. The company also declared five dealers in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The company announced to commence booking of India-bound Harley bikes from 20th April and it has come up to expectation. It's also good news for cruiser bike lover, now they can book a Harley Davidson bikes in India. Harley has unveiled 12 models from its 2010 models year. These models were also displayed at Delhi Auto Expo 2010. These cruiser bikes will be available between the price tags of Rs. 6,95,000 to Rs. 34,95,000 (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). All the motorcycles would be imported from the US Facilities as CBU (completely built units). The company was first granted permission to start operations in India in 2007 but it has to hold back on its plans because of a cruising import duty of over 100 percent. Now after getting a bit relaxation it has made up its mind to step up in the market. As per some website reports, the commercial production of these bike would complete in April 2010 and deliveries of the bikes will taken place in July 2010. The company has contracted with ICICI Bank to provide finance for its customers. However, the price would raise considerably when Harley-Davidson starts production in India. On the other hand, Yamaha Motor is going to launch its two new premium bikes - Yamaha SZ and Yamaha YZF R125 by 2010-end.
