The most exotic cruiser bike manufacturer - Harley Davidson, is known all over the world for its fascinating two-wheeled icons and majestically styled machines. However, the domestic unit of this company is facing a serious decline in number of vehicles sold this year if compared with numbers sold during the same duration last year. While the manufacturer has sold a total of 432 units in the month of October in 2014, the sales for the same month this year stand at 449 units. On first look, this may look like an ascending scenario but in reality all Harley models except the Street 750 and Breakout failed to show an increase in number of models sold and the numbers and not very encouraging for most of the motorcycles manufactured by Harley Davidson.
Harley Street 750 showed a total sale of 212 units in October of 2014, which climbed up to 342 units in the same month for 2015, accounting for a 76% increase. Breakout on the other hand saw a sale of just 2 units last month against a single unit sale last year but that is where the encouraging numbers end and the biggest disappointment of the company was the 883 Super Low that faced a whopping 85.7 percent decline in sales. The minimum damage happened to Dyna Street Bob that saw a drop of 5.88 percent in sales.
This is really shocking and we hope that Harley Davidson will again see some pleasant days and Introducing some new models and revising pricing strategy could be a good move regain the lost popularity in the Indian market.
