The Shotgun 650 could tip the scales at around 248kg
Update: The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been launched in India. You can read all about it in our launch story here.
In addition to the specifications of the Himalayan 450, we've also gained access to the homologation documentation for the upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. And this one sheds light on some important bits like the bike’s weight, wheelbase, and more.
The Shotgun 650 will be powered by the familiar 647.95cc parallel-twin engine, which also powers bikes like the Interceptor 650, Super Meteor 650 and Continental GT 650. On this one, it makes 34.6kW, slightly less than the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650’s 34.9kW. However, both translate to 47PS. While exact torque figures are yet to be confirmed, we think it’ll be 52.3Nm as well, a figure we’ve seen on the other three 650cc models.
One standout feature highlighted in the Shotgun 650 documentation is its weight. With a Gross Vehicle Weight of 428kg, the anticipated kerb weight hovers around 248kg, considering its load-carrying capacity of approximately 180kg. Despite its more compact design compared to the Super Meteor 650 (which weighs 241kg), the Shotgun 650 seems to be the heavier one.
