Under the new partnership, the Hero Optima and Hero Nyx will be made at Mahindra’s Pitampura plant
As a part of its expansion plans and to increase the production of its EVs, Hero Electric and Mahindra Group have announced their intent of collaborating via a strategic partnership in a bid to grab a share of the fast-growing electric mobility space.
In addition to the Hero Electric Optima & NYX being manufactured in Hero Electric’s Ludhiana plant, these two models will now be manufactured by Mahindra Group at its Pitampura plant. This increase in production will help Hero Electric meet the claimed sales demand of one million EVs per year by end of this year.

The collaboration between these two companies will also help in the electrification of Peugeot Motorcycles’ products, which is owned by the Mahindra Group. This will be done by both the companies sharing their R&D and knowledge for building new products.
The rising trend of electric mobility has brought along the formation of multiple partnerships in the EV industry to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country. However, partnerships aren’t exactly new in this space, case in point is Hero MotoCorp’s partnership with Gogoro. Partnering also helps companies streamline their logistics and manage business better.
