You don’t need a licence or registration to ride this electric scooter
Adding on to its strong portfolio of electric two-wheelers, Hero Electric has launched the all new Eddy e-scooter at Rs 72,000 (ex-showroom). The EV’s top speed is limited to 25kmph, and so buyers will not require any registration or licence for riding it.
The Eddy adopts an unconventional yet classy design, there's a sense of flow that makes the body panels seem like one complete unit from front to back. On the front it gets a clean and straightforward fascia, featuring integrated LED headlight with DRLs (the whole setup is rectangular).
The side panels get Hero Eddy graphics. Overall, it looks like a distant electric cousin of the funky looking Honda Dax.

Hero Electric has not given out any information on the powertrain; however, we do know that it is a low-speed electric scooter and will likely share the same specs as its siblings, the Flash LX, Optima LX and Atria LX. All three get a 250W hub motor with a top speed of 25kmph and a claimed range of around 80 - 85km.
The Eddy packs features like the 'Find My Bike' function, E-Lock, underseat storage, follow me home headlamps, and a 'Reverse' mode. However, the scooter misses out on smartphone connectivity.
The Hero Electric Eddy competes directly with other low-speed scooters available in India, including the Ampere Reo Plus, BGauss A2 and Detel Easy Plus.
