The popular commuter gets features missing even on the KTM 125 Duke!
Hero MotoCorp’s ever-expanding Glamour range is all set to welcome a new member which comes with a bunch of unique features. After the standard, 100 Million Edition, and Blaze (all three available with a front drum and disc brake), the Hero Glamour X-Tec will soon be added to the lineup. Though the launch is still a few days away, details leaked from what seems like a product briefing for dealers gives away quite a lot.
The Hero Glamour has always been the Indian two-wheeler giant’s premium offering in the 125cc segment, but with the likes of Honda SP125 challenging the throne, it was time to step up the game. Hero has introduced three paint schemes and thrown in an LED headlight but the highlight is the segment-first Bluetooth-enabled console (from the XPulse 200 and Xtreme 200S). It gives the Glamour features such as navigation, gear position indicator, real-time fuel efficiency, and a service indicator.
The Honda Glamour X-Tec will continue to use the 124.7cc single-cylinder engine, producing 10.87PS at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm. However, it gets a new X-Tec fuel injection system, which Hero claims will boost fuel efficiency by 2 percent. This new system could later make its way to the other variants too.
Hero MotoCorp is unlikely to make any changes to the underpinnings. So this one will also be offered in two variants: with a 130mm front drum brake and a 240mm front disc, both with combined braking as standard.
Currently, the top variant in the lineup is the Hero Glamour 100 Million Edition with disc brake that retails for Rs 78,500. The X-Tec variant is likely to cost around Rs 80,000, squaring it up with the Honda SP125 priced at Rs 81,441 for the disc variant.
