Hero Honda, Bajaj hike bike prices

Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto which are the India's no 1 and no 2 bike makers has hiked their bike prices in India. Both the companies have taken this decision after increase the raw materiel prices in International market.



According to reports, the increased prices would be line up from January 1st 2011. Hero Honda has hiked its bike prices between Rs. 500 to Rs. 1500 while Bajaj Auto has hiked its bike prices up to Rs. 1000.

Hero Honda is the largest two wheeler producer in India which is selling all segment bikes. Its most popular bikes include Hero Honda CD dawn, Hero Honda CD Deluxe and Hero Honda pleasure will available with enhanced price of Rs 500 and rest of the products like Hero Honda Hunk, Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme and Hero Honda Karizma has been added up to Rs. 1500.

Hero Honda's official commented, " We have always taken a long-term view on pricing, given its strategic nature. Hence we had consciously held back price increase on most of our products despite the rising input costs and hardening commodity prices". 

On the other hand Bajaj Auto's president S Sridhar said, " The continued rising cost of the raw material inputs is the main cause for this increase so we are going to hike our bike prices". We hopes this increased price will not effect on the sale of the bikes, he added.

Bajaj Auto, in its stable has 6 most popular bikes like Bajaj Discover 100ccc, Bajaj Discover 150cc, Bajaj Pulsar 150cc, Bajaj Pulsar 180cc, Bajaj Pulsar 220cc and Kawasaki Ninja 250cc. Now these bikes will available with hiked prices.
