Hero Honda India to launch a series of new bikes in festive season

India's largest bike maker Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML) has announced that it will launch a series of new bikes in the Indian market in the upcoming festival season. Mr Anil Dua, Sr. Vice-President (Marketing & Sales) at HHML, told the reporters on Friday that as the company moves into the festive season in the coming months, it anticipates maintaining this buoyancy. He added that the company has a series of new launches planned in the coming months leading up to the festive season. However, he denied to reveal any details regarding these upcoming bikes.
Meanwhile, the company has reported a jump of 16.6 percent to 4,27,686 units in the month of July this year as compare to the 3,66,808 units in the same month last year. This is the third consecutive month when company has crossed the crucial sales mark of 4 lakh units in the country. The company had sold 4,35,933 units of its bikes in May 2010 and 4,26,454 units in June 2010. The company has reported the highest ever sales figures in the first quarter of this financial year. The company managed to sell as many as 12,34,039 units of its two-wheelers in the country during Apr-Jun period, which is the fifth consecutive quarter when it has crossed 12,00,000 units sales mark.
While elaborating the company's performance during this period Mr Dua said that the four lakh-plus sales for the third consecutive month has been possible because of growth coming in from all segments – entry, deluxe as well as premium and also in our scooter sales which continue to grow at 60 per cent growth rate.
Moreover, the company is also a presenting partner in the upcoming XIX Commonwealth Games Delhi. The company has started a nation wide Batonbearers Contest so that it can offer the common man an opportunity to take part in the Queen's Baton Relay. With this the company has also organized a ‘Dhadkanon Ki Rally’ for the bike enthusiasts in which more than people from more than 22,000 villages across the country will participate.
