The break up news of Hero Group with Honda Motors late last year was the most shocking news for the bike lovers in India as almost for three decades the Hero Honda Bikes have ruled over the Indian Bike market. After the successful launch of their first infant Hero Honda CD 100 almost in the mid of 1980’s, Hero Honda delivered the wide range of Hero Honda bikes on Indian roads. Hero Honda has ten motorbikes in India and it is expected to launch Hero Honda Diesel soon.
After the break up of joint venture between Hero group and Honda Motors, it was mutually agreed that Hero group can use the name of Honda for different motorcycles to be manufactured by Hero Motors. But now there is one good news for the Hero Honda aspirants. There are rumors that the Hero group of motors has decided expand its operations throughout the world. However, as the part of their expansion strategy the name of Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML) will be changed into Hero MotoCorp Ltd.
According to the reports the Hero group finds excellent opportunities of expanding its sales in the markets of Latin America, Africa and South-East Asia and for this company has decided to widen its network by setting up its manufacturing units and assembly operations in the overseas market, besides designing the new models for the international market.
Mr. Anil Dua, Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales, HHML, has reportedly expressed that the company is planning to expand its boundaries in the global market and for this company is speculating to set up its manufacturing units in foreign countries.
Earlier according to alliance between Honda Motors and Munjals of Hero group, the renowned bike Hero Honda was not able to expand its market to large extent in the overseas market whereas the contender companies like Bajaj and TVS were flourishing the overseas market with their products. But this break has opened the options for Munjals of Hero group to expand their market globally and increase their sales inspite of depending on the local market.
According reports, in the beginning the Hero groups intends to launch some of already existing models in these markets mainly Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme, Hero Honda CD Dawn, Hero Honda CD Deluxe and Hero Honda Splendor. Once the supply is regularized company will decide whether it can export these models from India or it can set up its manufacturing units in those countries.
