Hero Honda's intends to set up fourth plant in India

India's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Honda Motors is planning to set-up its fourth plant in Karnataka. The company has offered an investment of Rs. 2,000 crore for its next plant followed by Rajasthan's. Karnataka's chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa met the top officials of Hero Honda Motors at move upon the two-wheeler maker to set-up their manufacturing plant in the state. The firm has listed karnataka as one of the states for launching its fourth manufacturing plant. Hero Honda Motors team was led by chairman Brijmohan Lall Munjal and MD Pawan Munjal. Karnataka state government has displayed them two sites including Hubli. Hubli field is around 500 acres and the other one is 1,000 acres near Dharwad. Dharwad has already got Tata Marcopolo Motors' plant, it manufacturers buses and Telcon Construction Equipment company. The karnataka government is trying to turn the state into a automobile hub. Its keen on locating Hero Honda's project in the Hubli-Dharwad area. A team from Hero Honda has already followed karnataka and looked at a site in Hubli. The final decision is possible to be taken by the next month after the maker visit their second site. Company officials raised certain concerns regarding fiscal motivator. The state government suggested through message that they could be given refund on VAT and other agreement if the investment are about Rs.250 crore. On the other hand, Bajaj auto has recently re-launched its 125cc New Bajaj Platina in the country.
