The BS6 scooter is expected to carry a price premium of around Rs 6,500 over its BS4 version
- The Maestro Edge series has been the company’s flagship model family.
- It shares its 110.9cc motor with the Pleasure Plus.
- No changes to the overall shape but the scooter now arrives with funkier shades.
Hero MotoCorp has announced the arrival of the Maestro Edge 110 BS6 on its official website. While it hasn’t revealed prices yet, the scooter is expected to be around Rs 6,500 dearer than before. This is roughly the same premium that Hero gave to its more youthful sibling -- the Pleasure Plus -- when it too transitioned to BS6 norms. Hence, the expected price tag is likely to start from around Rs 56,000 (ex-showroom).
What’s new here on the Maestro Edge 110 BS6? Not much actually. The conventional family scooter design remains the same as it looks identical to its 125cc sibling. This being the smaller of the two Maestros, it has a lot of funkier shades with edgy graphics. In all, there are six dual tone colours: Panther Black (nice way to dodge a possible lawsuit from Disney), Techno Blue, Midnight Blue, Seal Silver, Candy Blazing Red and Pearl Fadeless White.
Hero had already given its 110.9cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor the necessary updates that were mandatory for BS6 earlier on the Pleasure Plus. Engine outputs are more or less the same as before: 8.16PS and 8.75Nm (only 0.05Nm more). Kerb weight has gone up by 2kg, tipping the scales now at 112kg.
Mechanical bits remain the same: front telescopic fork, preload adjustable monoshock and 12-/10-inch wheel setup. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be a front disc offered, even as an option.
The Maestro Edge 110 will reignite rivalries with the Honda Activa 6G and the TVS Jupiter BS6. Stay tuned for more details on the price and availability front.
