Hero MotoCorp Achieved 21.56% Growth in FY 2011-2012

After having a break up with the Japanese competitor, Honda, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. has witnessed a record sales for the Financial Year 2011-2012, which is the first year of its solo journey. The company has possessed a benchmark by recording a sale of 62,35,205 units in this year with a turnover of Rs. 23,579 crores as compared to the turnover in last fiscal year which was Rs. 19,397 crores only, which means a growth of 21.56% over the last fiscal year. HMCL has carried forward the same growth pace into FY'13 with five lakh plus unit sales in the month of April, 2012 which has surpassed its previous highest monthly sales in the month of September, 2012.

The company is also planning to expand its global footprints in other parts of the world as the company is actively looking for new markets in Africa and Latin America including some other global markets also. Hero MotoCorp has also made its beginning in the international motorcycle racing, through participation in the AMA Pro Racing National Guard Superbikes Championship held in the U.S. At the Auto Expo, held in Delhi this year, the company has unveiled its Passion X Pro, a 110cc commuter, Hero Motocorp Ignitor – a 125 cc bike along with Hero Leap which is a hybrid electric scooter, running on both battery and petrol. Another launches by Hero includes Hero Impulse bike and Maestro scooter, that are expected to behave like a catalyst in boosting the sales of two wheelers by Hero.

The company has also decided to raise the price of its products by Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 in order to cope up with the increasing input costs. Hero MotoCorp has recently made some exciting announcements including a strategic alliance with the US-based Erik Buell Racing (EBR) to scale up its in-house R & D capabilities and also a partnership with Austria-based AVL for engine technologies. The partnership of HMCL with EBR was the reason behind its debut in the AMA Pro Racing Championship. Hero Motocorp has also sponsored the men's and women's hockey qualifying events for London Olympics 2012 and has introduced the chocolaty Ranbir Kapoor as their brand ambassador.
