Update: Hero has unveiled 4 new products at the 2016 Auto Expo, which are Splendor iSmart 110, Xtreme 200 S, XF3R and Duet-E. The new Splendor iSmart is the first motorcycle of Hero that has been developed entirely in -house by the company. The new Xtreme 200 S is a naked sport motorcycle with a powerful 200cc engine and other upgraded features. The XF3R is a new concept of the company thatis based on 'Born to be Wild'. The Duet-E is an electric scooter concept, aimed at providing a comfortable, convenient and environment-friendly commuting option.
The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer - Hero MotoCorp had showcased a total of 11 products in the previous edition of Auto Expo. Out of these, only 3 managed to make it to the Indian roads and the remaining were left just as concepts. In the upcoming 2016 edition, there is a healthy possibility that Hero will showcase all those models again that may or may not accompany some new products on display.
Let's have a look on what one can expect to see at Hero booth at the upcoming motor show:
Hero HX250R:
The bike is powered by a 250cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder motor that generates 31bhp of power and 26Nm of torque. The flagship HX250R features sporty twin headlamp section, split step-up seats, LED tail lamp, lightweight alloy wheels, clip-on handlebars, dual disc brakes and much more. Its launch was further delayed due to EBR’s bankruptcy who was Hero’s technology partner and had collaborated for the development of the bike. If launched, we can expect the bike arriving with a price tag of around Rs. 1.5 lac for the Indian market.
Hero Hastur:
The 620cc streetfighter was one of the main attractions for the two-wheeler enthusiasts at the 2014 edition of Auto Expo. The bike boasts of a raw and brutal body design and has been equipped with a 620cc, water-cooled engine that claims to produce 78.9bhp of maximum power. That was the last time anybody had heard or seen of the bike and due to this, speculations are that it might be displayed at this year’s edition too.
Hero ZIR 150:
The sporty and powerful 150cc scooter moved a lot of eyeballs at the gone by edition due to its impressive body styling and features. Powered by a 150cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that develops 14.1bhp of power and 12.7Nm of torque, the machine claims to hit a top speed of 110kmph. Other host of features include twin projector headlamps, European styled padded seats, dual disc brakes, daytime running lights (DRLs) and digital-analog instrument cluster. Hero will hopefully display this scooter again this year as well to keep the flow of visitors at its stall.
Hero Dare 125:
The peppy, good-looking scooter draws its power from a 125cc, forced air-cooled engine that claims to produce 9.1bhp of power and 9.5Nm of torque. Hero has given a stylish makeover to the vehicle and has integrated it with daytime running lights (DRLs), dual tone body colours, LED tail light, fully digital instrumentation, textured seat and more. If launched, the scooter might be priced over Rs. 50,000 and will rival with Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125 and Yamaha Fascino in its segment.
Hero Passion iSmart:
This bike was recently spotted doing final test runs and the company might launch it at this event. Powering it is a 111cc, four-stroke engine that will come mated to a four-speed gearbox and is expected to generate 8bhp of power and 8.3Nm of torque. Like the Splendor iSmart, this too would be getting the i3s technology that automatically shuts off the engine during idling and one can restart it by pressing the clutch.
Hero Super Splendor iSmart:
The most powerful Splendor in the range is expected to be showcased with i3s technology at the upcoming biennial event. As per speculations, the bike is powered by the same 124.7cc engine that powers the existing model. The Super Splendor iSmart is expected to borrow its design cues from its younger sibling - Splendor iSmart and is expected to be priced a little above than the current Super Splendor.
