Earlier when Hero and Honda were in partnership, according to the partnership deal Hero was not allowed to enter international market where Honda had its presence and Africa was one of that nations. Now after the 27-year old partnership has dissolved, Hero MotoCorp is eyeing international markets too. Hero MotoCorp wants to expand its presence across Indian borders, they want to make their presence felt in all the two-wheeler markets in the world. There have been news inputs that African two-wheeler industries are making good and healthy growth. Hero MotoCorp will definitely be focusing on the African two-wheeler market. Hero MotoCorp is world’s largest two-wheeler producer in terms of volumes.
Hero MotoCorp has big plans for African nations. Hero MotoCorp wants to establish both assembly and manufacturing plants in African nations. Hero MotoCorp is slowly planning to expand its manufacturing in African countries depending upon the two wheeler demand in each country. Hero MotoCorp is planning to assemble motorcycles by exporting CKD kits. According to the top officials of Hero MotoCorp, they have made all the analysis, and have chalked out different strategies and plans for different two wheeler markets across the world. According to the official, Hero MotoCorp has identified few international markets across the globe.
Hero MotoCorp will be setting up manufacturing plants in some of the identified locations and in some locations it will be establishing assembly plants, and in some locations they would be carrying out export businesses. Africa has been identified as one of the deal locations for setting up manufacturing units. Many industrialists from India, China, and Japan are frequently visiting the African regions. Honda, second largest producers of two wheelers in world and competitor for Hero MotoCorp, is preparing to give a stiff competition to the former ally.
