Hero Motocorp reports sales of over 5.49 lakh units

Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMC), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, reached yet another milestone today by reporting its highest-ever monthly sales. Hero MotoCorp sold 549,625 units of two-wheelers in the month of September’11, registering a growth of 26.75 per cent over the corresponding month last year when it had sold 4, 33,641 units. Noted that the company had announced to launch two new vehicles in India that includes Hero Motocorp Maestro and Hero Motocorp Impulse.
Further consolidating its strong leadership position in the two-wheeler industry, Hero MotoCorp (formerly known as Hero Honda Motors Ltd) closed the second quarter (July-September) of FY’12 with the sales of 15,44,315 units of two-wheelers, a growth of 20.1 per cent over the corresponding quarter in FY’11 when the company had sold 12,85,944 units.
Mr. Anil Dua, Sr. Vice-President (Marketing & Sales), Hero MotoCorp Ltd said, “We continue to progress on our growth trajectory this year and September sales have added a new milestone to our journey. Sales have been regularly in excess of half a million two-wheelers per month since the formation of our new company, setting the pace for our continued leadership. We expect this momentum to continue into the festive season, and our plans are in place to meet the market demand. Our customers can surely look forward to more added excitement in the festive season.”
In yet another vindication of the popularity of the brand among customers, Hero MotoCorp has again been ranked No 1 brand in the Auto (two-wheelers) category in the recent Brand Equity “Most Trusted Brand” 2011 survey.
The company’s commitment to the promotion of various sports in the country continues with the forthcoming Hero India Open 2011, the flagship golf tournament of India, to be held at the Delhi Golf Club between October 13 -15. Hero has been the title sponsor of the tournament for the past seven consecutive years.
