None of the two-wheelers from Hero’s product portfolio registered a positive growth last month

Hero MotoCorp Sales For April 2021

Covid-19 sure has a way of humbling you. Even Hero MotoCorp, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country, has come to accept the grim economic reality for the time being. The second wave of Covid-19 impacted the monthly sales of all two-wheelers, and Hero is no exception. April ’21 witnessed the numbers dropping to almost half of that in March ‘21, with not a single two-wheeler from Hero posting positive growth.

But that’s purely down to the current lockdown and the temporary halt in production most manufacturers adopted to try and curb infections.

The model that’s been most affected is Hero’s most affordable motorcycle, the HF Deluxe. The bike posted a negative growth of -51 percent as opposed to March 2021.

Hero’s Splendor range also registered negative growth during the same period despite reeling in a decent number compared to its competition.

The scooter range didn’t do any better either, with sales figures spiralling below 10,000 units in some cases. The Pleasure Plus, despite the current situation, raked in over 18,000 units last month. It may not be the ideal number for Hero, but it’s still income at the end of the day.

The brand's premium range of motorcycles suffered the same fate. Nevertheless, Hero MotoCorp is positive that it will make up for lost time and turn things around by the fourth quarter of 2021. Moreover, the fact that it has partnered with manufacturers like Harley-Davidson and Gogoro should tell you a thing or two about its game plan for the future.

There’s a lot to look forward to for Indian two-wheeler enthusiasts, and Hero MotoCorp seems to be the centre of it all.
