The updated Super Splendor is now Rs 6,550 more expensive than before!

  • The BS6 Super Splendor gets a 5-speed gearbox instead of the 4-speed unit seen on the older model.
  • Torque is down by 0.4Nm compared to the older model.
  • Hero claims that the suspension travel on both ends has been increased.
  • It gets a minor cosmetic update as well.

After unveiling it a few weeks ago, Hero MotoCorp has finally launched the Super Splendor BS6 in India at Rs 67,300 (ex-showroom), making it around Rs 6,500 more expensive than its predecessor. From the image above, you can clearly see that the new Super Splendor has received a cosmetic update, but there are some mechanical changes as well.

First off, the engine. The BS6-compliant 124.7cc engine now belts out 11PS of power at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 6000rpm. While the power remains similar to the BS4 model, peak torque has gone down by 0.4Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a new 5-speed gearbox instead of a 4-speed gearbox.

The underpinnings of the BS6 Super Splendor are similar to the BS4 model, but Hero claims that the suspension travel has been increased by 14 per cent at the front and 9 per cent at the rear. These small changes could affect its performance, but we will reserve our judgement until we get the motorcycle for a proper road test.

Here’s the official press release from the company:
