Hero To Invest Rs 100 Crore For New Name And Logo On Products

Hero Group is working aggressively on new brand identity, it has embarked Rs. 100 crore to have new name and logo that will reflect it as a global player as it will export its two-wheelers outside India. Hero Group will pay this amount to five agencies including JWT, Draftfcb Ulka, Mudra, Law & Kenneth and Percept H. All these five company's to work under supervision of London based design agency Wolff Onlins. The new logo and identity will also be there for Hero Scooters. As per media reports the new logo and Identity to be launched in few months.
For 27 years, India based Hero Motors and Japan based Honda were working together with name of Hero Honda but now this joint ventures has been dissolved. According to tie-up, both the company's will work till 2014, in terms of technical support. Both the company's want to be regular in the two-wheeler segment hence Honda is having its subsidiary firm with name of HMSI while Hero is in progress to set up its own manufacture plant. Hero targeted to capture Latin America, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia to export its vehicles.
At present, Hero Honda is the world's largest two-wheeler maker, it sells popular bike models in India such as Hero Honda Splendor, Hero Honda Passion Pro, Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme and most popular entry-level sports bike Hero Honda Karizma. The company is enjoying number one position in entry-level bike segment with its Hero Honda CD Dawn and Hero Honda CD Deluxe.
On the other hand, HMSI which is ready to grab the Indian two-wheeler market has all segment bikes such as Honda Twister, Honda Unicorn, Honda Dazzler, Honda CBR 1000R, etc bikes. While the Indian scooter market is also dominated by Honda Activa. And by the next month, Honda CBR 250R will hit the Indian roads.
