The motorcycle will be launched alongside the XPulse 200 twins
[Update: Hero MotoCorp has launched the XPulse 200, XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S. Head here for the launch story]
- The motorcycle was recently spotted undisguised revealing quite a few details.
- It will be powered by the same engine as the XPulse 200.
- Will feature a fully digital instrument cluster.
- Is expected to be priced under Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hero is all set to launch the highly anticipated XPulse twins on May 1. However, the Indian bikemaker also has a little surprise for us. Alongside the XPulse 200 and the 200T, the company is also going to launch a fully faired motorcycle on the same day. Will it be the next-gen Karzima? Or will it be the fully faired variant of the Xtreme 200R? For now, our guess is as good as yours.
A few days back, the motorcycle in question was spied without any camouflage. But, information about the bike was limited as the video was kind of fuzzy. However, we did find something interesting. The motorcycle gets a single-piece flat handlebar and features the same fully-digital instrument cluster as the XPulse 200. Going by the spy shots, the upcoming motorcycle appears to be more of a sports tourer than an out-and-out track machine.
The bike will be powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected mill as seen on the XPulse 200. In the ADV, it produces 18.7PS of power and 17.1Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Expect Hero to tweak the engine to a sportier state of tune in the faired bike. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking hardware consists of disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS likely to come as standard equipment.
Being a Hero product, the motorcycle is likely to come with a very competitive price tag. We expect it to be priced under Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it will undercut the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 and the Yamaha R15 V3.0 by around Rs 20,000.
