Continues to be the most affordable 200cc motorcycle in India
- The Hero Xtreme 200R gets a price hike of Rs 1000.
- The 200cc motorcycle is now priced at Rs 90,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
- Undercuts Pulsar NS200 and Apache RTR 200 4V by a huge margin.
Hero MotoCorp has hiked the prices of its 200cc sports-commuter, the Xtreme 200R, by Rs 1,000. With a new price tag of Rs 90,900, it continues to undercut its rivals - the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 (Rs 1.13 lakh) and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 (1.10 lakh). All prices, ex-showroom Delhi.
While it may be the most affordable 200cc motorcycle in the country, it is definitely not the most powerful. Powered by a 199.6cc, the Xtreme 200R produces 18.4PS of power and 17.1Nm of torque, the lowest in the segment. In comparison, the Pulsar NS200 and the RTR 200 make 23.52PS and 20.05PS, respectively.
If you thought the dull performance figures would translate to a better fuel efficiency figure, then you’d be wrong. In our tests, we found the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 (Carb) to be more efficient (city - 46.9kmpl, highway - 41.58kmpl) than the Xtreme 200R (city - 40.69kmpl, highway - 36.90kmpl). This could partly be due to the Xtreme’s shorter gear ratios.
The 200cc Hero is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, which is a first for any Hero motorcycle. A 276mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc aided by a single-channel ABS unit takes care of braking duties.
