Hero Xtreme 200S And Xtreme 200R Prices Increased

Even with the price hike, the Hero Xtreme 200S is still the most affordable fully faired bike in India

• Compared to its launch price, the Xtreme 200S is now dearer by Rs 900.
• On the other hand, the Hero Xtreme 200R has witnessed a Rs 1000 bump in price.
• The hike in prices is likely due to increasing commodity and raw material costs.

Last month, Hero MotoCorp had announced that the prices of its entire portfolio will witness a hike of 1 per cent. The bike maker has now increased the prices of the Xtreme 200S and Xtreme 200R. The former is now priced at Rs 99,400 whereas the latter costs Rs 91,900, both ex-showroom Delhi. 

Compared to its launch price, the Xtreme 200S is dearer by Rs 900. But even so, it remains the most affordable fully faired motorcycle in the country. In terms of pricing, the Gixxer SF was a close second to the Xtreme 200S but the gap has widened with the launch of the 2019 iteration of the Gixxer SF recently.

The Hero Xtreme 200R was launched back in 2018 at a price of Rs 89,900. The price went up slowly over the months and in April 2019, it cost Rs 90,900. And now, the price has been hiked by Rs 1000, but even with the hike in price, it still retains the distinction of being the most affordable 200cc motorcycle in India.

While Hero MotoCorp hasn’t revealed the reason for the hike in prices, we believe it is likely due to the rise in raw material and commodity costs. Apart from the price increase, the bikes remain unchanged both mechanically and cosmetically.
