HHML to be known as Hero MotoCorp

June 18, 2011 witnessed the born of  new star shining in the Indian auto world. After the termination of joint venture between Hero Motor Co of Munjals from India and Honda Motor Co. from Japan, both the companies are speculating to establish themselves as independent companies in the global market. However according to conditions of the joint venture Hero Motors can use the name of Honda as an affix behind the name of its two wheelers till 2014. As is well known that with its introduction in Indian market Hero Honda became the most appreciated bike in India and brought revolutionary changes in the Indian bike market. The bikes manufactured by Hero Honda dominated the Indian market for almost 27 years.

Now there are reports that finally on June 17, 2011, Hero group has received the consent from its shareholders to rename it as Hero MotoCorp Ltd.  That means after receiving  the approval from shareholders the company will finally apply to Registrar of Companies for necessary government proceedings to change its name to Hero MotoCorp Ltd from Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML).

Few days back Hero Motors had disclosed its expansion plans by exploring its market in the overseas market as now it has been set free from the agreement according to which Hero Motors was earlier entitled not to export its bikes in the market where Honda is selling its product. As an expansion plans Hero Motors has made an extra investment for promoting itself as an independent brand, with new name and logo.

With this Hero Motors is also started manufacturing the new bikes in its own plants and had recently re-launched the new versions of Hero Honda Glamour, Hero Honda Glamour Fi, Hero Honda Karizma and  Hero Honda Karizma ZMR in Indian market with an objective of receiving the  feedback from the customers. Let us hope that these bike create the same impact which the bikes under joint venture of Hero Honda had carried for long time.
