Bajaj Auto launched Bajaj Discover 100cc DTS-Si in July 2009 and got unexpected response thereby robust growth in sales figure and net profit. The new 100 cc Discover broke all the records of sales in bike segment and managed to sell over 1 lakh units in just 50 days of launching. In nut shell, demand is high and supply is low. So that the company has to hike the production of the bike at Pantnagar plant. At present the company is producing around 80,000 bikes a month and willing to increase it by January 2010. There are several reasons of Discover's gala success are- highest mileage in the class-80 kmpl, value for money-priced at Rs 40,000, five-speed gearbox, alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and self-start. TVS is also going to launch its TVS Neo in India very soon. Bajaj Auto, the leading auto major, is believed to launch a couple of new bikes in India. Recently the company quoted by saying in media reports that it will launch another entry or executive class bike in India in January 2010.
