Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has been teasing their upcoming product - NAVi over the past few days and it will be making its appearance at the upcoming Auto Expo. Now, we have received a news that the vehicle will be based on crossover concept, which means that it will come as a combination of a motorcycle and a scooter. NAVi will be powered by a 110cc engine that currently powers the scooter segment leader - Honda Activa. The vehicle will be manufactured at the company’s production facility in Manesar, Haryana.
The product will be the first to be handled and developed by Honda’s local R&D department. Codenamed as the K74, the NAVi will be targeting the young trendsetter of India, as is claimed by the company in a press release. If the report in Economic Times is to be believed, the bike will be an upgraded version of the "Bobby" two-wheeler which Rishi Kapoor had ridden in his 1970s movies.
Honda started promoting NAVi right at the start of this year i.e. 1st Jan. While promoting this new vehicle the company has stated, "We are here to change the way India plays with two wheels.. the NAVI is set to excite the young trendsetter of India and create a new segment in Indian two-wheeler landscape." Initially, the company will produce 1 lac units per annum and will boost the production once the product shows its potential in the market.
Honda two-wheelers will be showcasing 10 products at the upcoming motor show out of which six are domestic launches while the remaining are concepts. The NAVi falls under the former and the deliveries are expected to commence by April-May this year. The 110cc NAVi has been designed in such a way that the rider has options to customize it the way he or she wants. Stay tuned to BikeDekho to get latest two-wheeler news and gossip!
