While Make in India is already very much in trend, it’s good to see automakers considering Made for India products. Honda’s all-new Navi is one such example. Positioned between a motorcycle and a scooter, the Navi opens up an all-new segment of two-wheelers.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced the dispatches for the same on Friday. Navi’s availability will start in a phased manner, Honda said in a statement. Mumbai is the first place to get it, where the Navi will be available from March’16 itself.

“Disrupting the monotony and bringing FUN to 100-110cc segment, the Navi is 100% developed by Honda R&D India from concept development to commercial production. It offers “New additional Value for India”. Taking forward Honda’s fun DNA, NAVI promises a world of Unlimited Possibilities,” HMSI said.

Navi is mechanically identical to the country’s most successful scooter, the Activa. So power comes from the CVT-mated 110cc, single cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine, which puts out the same 7.83bhp and 8.96Nm of peak torque. Navi has a ground clearance of 156mm and weighs a little above 100 kilograms.

Priced at INR 39,500 (Ex-showroom price, Delhi), this Newest Honda is available in a single variant and five colour options - Patriot Red, Hooper Green, Shasta White, Sparky Orange and Black.
