Chai and Pakoda ride, the famous event created history as 500 bikers met at 7AM on a Sunday morning to celebrate joy of biking. The ride is organized by the India Bike Week, country's largest motorbike festival. The event kick started from a sub-urban location in Mumbai to Parsi Da Dhaba situated on NH-8 about 150km from Mumbai.
We organize Chai and Pakoda rides to gather bikers together regardless of the machine they ride. From Pulsars to Harley-Davidson’s to KTM’s to Triumphs to superbikes, Mumbai bikers got their hobby motorcycles out to join and meet like-minded people, enjoy a good breakfast and celebrate this amazing year and the friends that they made along the way. Dads came with their kids, friends called up their office colleagues to join up and friends met for the first time in decades. The organizers also made the format all the more interesting this year with Biker Games like Coolest Looking Biker, Best Looking Bike, Oldest Bike, Safest Biker, Arm Wrestling and more. The biggest club turnout was the Surat Superbikers Club, who attended the ride with 65 people, and the Bikers Brotherhood Club who came a close second with 47.
Commenting on the astonishing response to this year’s Mumbai edition of Chai & Pakoda ride Martin da Costa, CEO of 70 EMG said “It’s great to see the enthusiasm with which the Mumbai biking community has received this ride. As I always say, IBW is not about brands and models, anyone who wishes to be a rider is welcome, and anyone with a love for bikes and love of the road is welcome. All the bikers who rode their way to be a part of an amazing union today substantiated what we preach.”
Keertan Adyanthaya, MD Fox International Channels said: “The Chai & Pakoda rides will be conducted all across the country and the participation has been increasing in leaps and bounds every year and with every city. Indian Biking brotherhood is just getting bigger in 2015.”
“By 8.00 am we had crossed 500 bikers and there were many who came just to show their support. It was one solid ride. Dozens of Biker Clubs were represented. What made it special was the enthusiasm for the third edition of INDIA BIKE WEEK. Over a Parsi breakfast of Kheema Pao, Chicken Cutlets & Acuri, bikers got busy making plans for the upcoming event and how they'll catch up in Goa” says Shrijit Patil, one of the riders who has participated in this ride since its inception in 2013.
Another high point of the morning was the message by the organizers about tickets going on sale for IBW 2015 from October 7th onwards. The organizers are introducing a never before heard offer this year, where patrons have the opportunity to avail a special 5 hour only Early Bird Scheme (Buy 1, get 50% off on the 2nd one). The organizers have decided not to change ticket prices, and they will once again be priced at Rs 3,000/-. The ticket price remains the same, but the festival promises a lot more excitement than what has been offered in the previous years.
