In certain aspects, the UCR125 looks identical to the India-specific Suzuki Avenis
Haojue, Suzuki’s Chinese arm, has launched the UCR125 scooter in China. It is available in two variants: self-start and kick-start, priced at an equivalent of Rs 1.09 lakh and Rs 1.12 lakh, respectively.
One look at the UCR125, and it reminds us of the newly launched Suzuki Avenis. The apron-mounted LED headlight, top-mounted bulb indicators, and sharp lines are identical to the India-spec Avenis. However, we definitely have the sportier-looking scooter of the two, primarily due to its TVS NTorq 125-like design elements.
Moving on to the features. The UCR125 gets a basic LCD instrument cluster with auto-dimming, cubby storage with a USB port, and a multi-function key slot. The 16.5-litre underseat storage can fit a half-face helmet.

Haojue hasn't revealed the UCR125's power figures. But we know it gets a 125cc single-cylinder engine, likely putting out similar numbers as the Suzuki Avenis (around 8.7PS and 10Nm).
So, to address the title of this story. On paper, the Suzuki Avenis does seem like the better (and more value-for-money) scooter than the Haojue UCR125. That said, we wish the Avenis was designed a little along the lines of the Haojue, only sportier.
