Pune-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, iVOOMi Energy has launched the new S1 Lite high-speed electric scooter in India, starting at Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom). The scooter is available in five colour schemes: sky blue, dark blue, grey, red, white and maroon.
The iVOOMi S1 Lite is equipped with a hub-mounted motor and has a top speed of 53kmph. The electric motor is paired with a bigger battery pack, which claims to deliver a range of 180km on a single charge. Now, that’s a tall claim that, if true, makes the S1 Lite the longest-range electric scooter in India. For reference, the standard S1 has a 2.1KWh lithium-ion battery and claims to have more than 105km of range with a claimed top speed of 65kmph.
The S1 Lite e-scooter features a digital instrument console that shows the speedometer, odometer, battery, range and other basic information. It also comes with a USB charging port, which is standard, and has 18 litres of underseat storage. There is also a smart features upgrade pack which includes distance to empty (DTE) readout, turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts. The smart features upgrade pack is available for an extra Rs 4,999.
The iVOOMi S1 Lite is equipped with a telescopic fork and twin rear shocks. Braking is handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. It has 10 and 12-inch wheel options and is wrapped with tubeless tyres. It has a generous ground clearance of 170mm.
Bookings for the S1 Lite e-scooter are also open at the iVOOMi dealerships in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Rajasthan. It goes up against other premium electric scooters like the Bajaj Chetak 2901, Ola S1 X and the Ampere Magnus EX.
Though the iVOOMi S1 Lite electric scooter has been launched in India, there are many details like the battery and motor, which haven’t been disclosed yet. The manufacturer may release it sometime in the future.
