Both bikes will son gain the Perak’s 334cc motor that belts out 30.4PS of power and 31Nm of torque
- The 334cc Jawa and Jawa 42 will be sold alongside the existing models.
- These are reportedly proper production models.
- Expect these variants to be launched by mid-2020.
We’d earlier reported Jawa’s plans to introduce three new models that are set to be launched in the next 18 months. Looks like the brand has already labelled two of them. Classic Legends, at the press launch of the Perak, confirmed that the Jawa and the Jawa Forty Two will be powered by the Perak’s engine in the future. These models will be proper production bikes and will be sold alongside the current Jawa and Jawa Forty Two. Expect them to be launched by mid-2020.

The custom bobbers engine displacement has been bumped up to 334cc from 293cc by increasing the bore. That said, the stroke length remains unchanged. Through this change, it makes 3.1PS and 3Nm more than the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two’s engine. What’s more? The Perak’s engine already complies with BS6 emissions norms, and Jawa is expected to update the existing 293cc powerplant meet the same regulations.
Apart from a heart transplant, the bikes are expected to remain unchanged. This would allow the company to price the bikes more competitively. To put things into perspective, the current Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are priced at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh respectively. We could expect the bigger, more powerful bikes to command a premium of around Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 over the standard models. This gives customers the opportunity to make use of the Perak’s performance without trading in comfort.
