[Update: KTM 390 Adventure Launched In India: Head Here For More Information.]
After all the months, even years of waiting, KTM has finally officially unveiled its 390 Adventure at EICMA today. We've managed to click some high-res pictures of the bike at the brand's stall in Milan. They say the devil is in the details, so let's dive in and take a closer look:
The 390 Adventure borrows styling cues from its larger sibling, the 790 Adventure. It gets a tall and prominent stance, courtesy of a 19-inch/17-inch front-rear alloy wheel combination.
In addition to the signature orange, KTM is also offering the 390 Adventure in a white colour scheme. The long, sharp tank extensions, windscreen and belly pan add some substance to the overall design.
The LED headlight closely resembles to the unit seen on the 790 Adventure, and also has hints of the 390 Duke's design. The upside-down front fork seen behind is adjustable for compression and rebound damping, a truly remarkable feature in this displacement range. The rear shock is also adjustable for preload and rebound damping.
The alloy wheels are wrapped in Continental TKC dual-purpose tyres which offer a good balance between on-road and off-road grip. We hope this rubber is offered in India as well. A petal-type front disc is also seen, and the Adventure features more relaxed geometry than the 390 Duke.
The engine is the same 373cc liquid-cooled unit as on the 390 Duke, producing 43.5PS and 37Nm. While gearing and sprocketing is identical to that on the Duke, the rolling diameter of the rear tyre is larger, resulting in effectively taller gearing.
While the single-piece seat does appear to be roomy and comfortable, the high 855mm seat height will make this bike inaccessible to a lot of Indian riders. Also seen in the image are KTM side bags that will be offered as accessories.
The presence of traction control on the 390 Adventure is a pleasant surprise, and it can be controlled through this colour TFT display that also gets Bluetooth connectivity.
