The hype surrounding the KTM 390 Adventure just never seems to die down, as test mules of the bike have been periodically spotted both in India as well as Europe. Latest in this line of spy shots is a recently snapped picture of a camouflaged 390 Adventure sporting optional accessories in the form of soft panniers and a top box.
These accessories have already been seen on test mules in India as well as in Europe earlier this year, and they appear to have been specifically designed by KTM for the 390 Adventure. The recently spotted prototype also features engine protection and a sump guard. The new 390 Duke and RC 390 have both been spotted testing, and they are expected to get BS6-compliant engines next year. The 390 Adventure is expected to get this engine as well, albeit with different sprocketing to suit its long-legged design brief.
After a long wait, the production version of the 390 Adventure is due to be unveiled at EICMA in November this year, after which it will go into production at KTM’s Chakan plant. Expected pricing is around the Rs 3.2 lakh mark (ex-showroom). While its potential is expected to be more than any of its natural rivals the pricing will bridge the huge gap that currently exists in the small-capacity adventure segment in India, which has the Royal Enfield Himalayan at the lower rung and bikes like the BMW G 310 GS and Kawasaki Versys X-300 quite a few rungs higher.
