KTM has unveiled its 390 Adventure at India Bike Week. While both the 250 Adventure and 390 Adventure were expected to mark their debut, KTM has showcased just the 390 Adventure for now. The 250 Adventure could come at a later date. Bookings for both bikes have unofficially started at KTM dealerships for a token amount of Rs 10,000.

The 390 Adventure gets proper off-road credentials in the form of long-travel WP apex suspension. However, these units are non-adjustable unlike the adjustable ones on international models. It gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels fitted with dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres. It even gets lean sensing traction control and cornering ABS. Power comes from the 390 Duke derived 373cc liquid-cooled single cylinder motor. Power and torque figures remain unchanged and this motor on the 390 Adventure delivers the same 44PS and 37Nm as the 390 Duke. Even the six-speed gearbox features identical ratios. Given that the 390 Adventure weighs 9kg more than the 390 Duke, we expect performance to be slightly toned down.
Given the extra kit, the 390 Adventure is likely to be priced around Rs 3.2 lakh. When launched, it will compete with the BMW G310R and Kawasaki Versys X300. Stay tuned for updates on the launch.
