It’s powered by KTM’s new LC8 799cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor which belts out 104.6PS at 9000 and 87Nm at 8000rpm. Its 6-speed transmission comes with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. It uses a Chromoly trellis frame and a single-piece aluminium rear subframe paired with a 43mm upside-down fork (non-adjustable) and a monoshock with preload-adjustability - both from WP. Anchoring the bike are twin 300mm front discs with radially-mounted JJuan calipers and a 240mm disc at the rear. It’s 17-inch wheels come wrapped in street-oriented Maxxis Supermaxx ST tyres measuring in at 120/70-section up front and 180/55-section at the rear.

Once launched, the 790 Duke will compete against the Suzuki GSX-S750 (Rs 7.52 lakh), Kawasaki Z900 (Rs 7.69 lakh) and the Street Triple S priced at Rs 9.19 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom pan-India).
