Indian two wheeler market may witness tough competition between two legendary companies adopting new promotional strategies to promote their bikes in Indian market. We are talking about competition between recently revitalized company Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Autos. Since Hero MotoCorp has launched Hero Impulse in the Indian bike market, there are rumors that Bajaj Autos is speculating to launch its new variant KTM Duke 125 in 125cc segment in Indian bike market during 2012.
Indian two wheeler market has always attracted two wheeler companies to launch their new and latest variants in the Indian market. Since Bajaj has entered in joint venture with KTM to promote the sales of KTM Duke 125 in India, the Indian bike market is keen to see the competition between two renowned companies. The most impressive feature of both Hero Impulse and Duke 125 is that both of them are targeted for youth users, who are crazy behind the powerful bikes. To talk of the specifications of Hero Impulse, it adorns an engine of 149.2 cc, 4 stroke engine churning power of 13 bhp at 7500 rpm and torque of 13.6 Nm at 6000 rpm, and embeds 5 speed clutch system. It chalks out an average of 55 kmpl.
On the other hand KTM Duke 125 endorses 125 cc 4 stroke, single cylinder DOHC engine churning maximum power varying between 15 and 17 B\bhp and torque of 12 Nm at 8000 rpm. It is expected to deliver an average of 35 kmpl. As compared to Hero Impulse, KTM Duke 125 is a light-weight bike churning more power than Impulse. Besides this, the price factor may also influence the demand of both the bikes. Where price of Hero Impulse is Rs 66, 800 (ex-showroom price) the price of KTM Duke speculated to be closer to Rs 1 Lakh. It would be now interesting to see two legendaries struggling to establish their flagship in Inidan bike market.
