Yes, you heard that right. The Austrian manufacturer has been working on another Duke that will come powered by a 800cc power plant. The bike is running in gossips now a days due to the inclusion of a parallel-twin motor. Stephan Pierer, CEO, KTM had earlier announced the development of parallel twin engines on the occasion of launching RC 200 and RC 390 in India. He further stated that two parallel twin engined motorcycles will find their way soon with 500cc and 800cc engine capacities.
The Duke 800 will sport WP upside down forks and dual disc brakes at the front as seen in the spy images. A two-channel ABS has also been equipped that takes care of the stopping action quite impressively. Furthermore, the bike gets a sporty side exhaust setup that intensifies the visuals. The front profile has been derived from the 690 Duke while the rear has been taken from the 200/390 models. The 800cc Duke will fit in-between Duke 690 and Duke 1290. With the announcement of another 500cc Duke arriving in future, it seems that KTM is all-set to serve all section of buyers with equal importance.
As per the reports, both bikes will be launched in the year 2017 and are expected to roll out from Bajaj’s production facility in Chakan, Pune. If the bikes get assembled here in India, there is a high possibility that we might be seeing these orange monsters cruising on Indian roads too.
