KTM Duke to be launched by end of the year

All the bike fanatics out there, time to be happy! The two-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj Auto is all set to launch new bike, which will be in collaboration with the well-known Austrian manufacturer KTM Power Sports. This new bike will be identified as KTM Duke. The Duke bike is all set to hit the Indian as well Brazil souk in December 2011.
According to the MD of Bajaj Auto, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, there might be launching of Bajaj Pulsar and Baja Discover after the introduction of KTM Duke 125 cc in the Brazilian Market. In this market around 20 lakh bikes are sold per annum. So it would be exciting to see the response of KTM Duke, which would be then followed by Pulsar and Discover.
The KTM Bajaj Duke will be currently manufactured for the export purpose at the Chakan plant of Bajaj. This plant is situated around 30 kilometers from city of Pune. Another point added by the Bajaj officials for the Duke launch was that this powerful bike will be 90% localized. Only 1700 to 1800 KTM duke bikes have been exported to Austrian and to other European countries. During the financial year 2012, the target to supply KTM duke bike is approximately 11,000.
The main focus of Bajaj Auto Ltd is to brace up its base in the Indian Auto market and plans to make more customers, particularly those of rural and semi-urban areas. This established company has made an effort and changed its most famous brands “Boxer Bike” to go well with the rural surroundings.
The modified Boxer Bike will be launched by the month of September 2011. This bike will have 150 cc of engine, which completely emphasize on rural bazaar. Bajaj also claims that Boxer bike is not for India but it is for Bharat.
With KTM Duke to launch soon, Bajaj is also reported to launch Kawasaki Ninja 650R in India shortly.
